Big news coming out this week – we’re announcing a new partnership together with StartX, a non-profit accelerator program, and community of founders from Stanford University. Currently, it is ranked as one of the leading startup programs in the US with AngelPad and Y Combinator. This partnership is a natural continuum as we’ve already helped several StartX alumni companies such as Arch Systems, LullyUnifyID and many more hire talent from the Nordics.

Seed Accelerator Rankings Project

The purpose of this partnership is to simply elevate the quality of the experiences and job opportunities we can provide our community of Lifers with. In addition to just working at a StartX company, the ones doing so will also get access to the network of 500+ companies and experts working at them, events, and resources provided by the program. As described by StartX on their website, rather than being just an accelerator it’s a collection of serial entrepreneurs, industry experts, tenured Stanford professors, and well-funded growth-stage startups.

“StartX is a collection of serial entrepreneurs, industry experts, tenured Stanford professors, and well-funded growth-stage startups.”

The stats from the program and the alumni are also staggeringly impressive:

  • 84% of the alumni companies are still growing or acquired after 9 years of operating
  • 2.2 times higher chance of reaching $100M+ valuation than startups from the best accelerators
  • +60% higher chance of reaching Series A stage than the industry average
  • $10.3M raised by StartX companies on average

We’re super excited to explore all the new opportunities this partnership will help us create for our amazing community. My hunch is that doing a startup internship in San Francisco or Silicon Valley at some of the world’s leading startups will become easier for us Nordic students than it has ever been before.

Thinking about whether to study or work abroad? We just published a blog post where we discussed the benefits of each option together with our alumni, go give it a read! As mentioned by our Lifer alumna Pauliina, you will not lose anything but win so much by joining this life-changing journey, so don’t hesitate to get involved or shoot us a message if you want to know more.
