What is the Startuplifers On-Demand Program?
The On-demand program provides a shortcut to students and recent graduates who want to kickstart their careers at a Silicon Valley or U.S. startup. If you are eager to work at a startup in the Bay Area, but you have not found a suitable position on our jobsite yet, then On-demand is for you.
How does it work?
Startups love self-starters. In On-demand, you take a more active approach to your startup job search. Here is how:
Once you get hired, we will provide you with the same practical support like all of our Lifers – visas, flights, legal support, and connection to our Startuplifers alumni network.
How to get started?
First, you need to find your perfect startup. Not sure where to begin? Get started with these sites:
AngelList
Angel List is a great place to start. All you need to do is to create a profile and make sure you click that you are interested in all job adverts that fill your criteria. Startups receive a lot of applications. To stick out from the crowd, pick companies that you can truly see yourself fitting into and take the time to personalize your application.
To quickly find high-potential startups that have the funds to grow, Breakout List is an excellent place to go. Once you find a company that catches your eye, you can cross-reference with Angel List to see if the company has open positions.
Crunchbase
Crunchbase is the leading destination for millions of users to discover industry trends, investments, and news about global companies — from startups to the Fortune 1000. It is one of the most extensive databases of top startups in the world. Use this site to find exciting new startups and start contacting them!
Techcrunch
TechCrunch is an American online publisher of technology industry news. It primarily covers the business side of tech, reporting breaking tech news, bold opinions on new products, and thorough analyses of emerging trends in tech. Techcrunch also does regular profiling of popular new tech businesses, from early-stage startups to publicly traded companies. Subscribe to their mailing list to get the latest news on growing trends and potential places to work.
You can also go through the graduates of accelerators and incubator programs located in SF, for example:
YCombinator
TechStars

Found one! Now what?
Once you have found an exciting startup (or many!), contact us, and we will help you forward. Please note: Before you send any applications, check in with the Startuplifers team to see if the startups you selected suit the focus of our program. From this point on, we will help you in contacting the startup, support you in your application, and provide tips for the interview.
Once you get hired, we will provide you with the visa, flights, legal support, and connect you with our network of Startuplifers alumni.
Am I eligible?
All degree students of Finnish and Swedish universities and universities of applied sciences can make use of our On-demand program. If you are interested in pursuing the On-demand path or you want to know more, please contact us!
