Startup Life Spring Batch 2015 (part four)

The Spring Batch has been very delightful for the Startup Life team, since we have been able to witness so many success stories as applicant after applicant wooed the startup folks and landed the internship of their lifetime.
It’s been quite a ride, and it’s finally coming to its end. We are proud to introduce the two final Startup Lifers from the Spring Batch: Cecilia and Samuli!

Cecilia Mickos

Cecilia is graduating from Hanken in logistics and social responsibility this year. In the beginning of September, she will join BetterDoctor’s ranks in San Francisco as a Business Development Intern, making her the company’s ninth Startup Life intern.

At BetterDoctor, Cecilia’s tasks will include financial analyses, growth strategies, business modeling, forecasting and so forth. Apart from work, she is excited to experience the culture and drive of the company she has heard so much good about. She’s also to eager discover the Bay Area with its cultural habits and local sights.

Samuli Peurasaari

Samuli is in the beginning of his Master’s studies in Automation and Systems Technology at Aalto University School of Electrical Engineering. In mid September, he will join BitBar, a part Finnish part Silicon Valley-based startup that offers high-performance mobile software development and testing solutions for mobile app and game developers. Samuli is most excited about meeting all the new people, as well as working with them and learning from the most talented professionals.

BitBar contacted the Startup Life team close to the end of the batch, and asked if we had engineers who would be interested in working as a part of their growing team in Mountain View, CA. Samuli rocked the interview and landed an internship as a Pre-Sales Engineer, which means that he will be helping the customers set up their tests and connection to BitBar’s test automation system.

Congrats and the best of luck to Cecilia and Samuli!
Next, the team will turn its attention to the Autumn Batch starting in the beginning of October. During the next two months we will scout for new startups and open intern positions, travel to Silicon Valley and back, and improve our application process even more, so that your Startup Life experience will be as smooth and carefree as possible!
