It’s been quite a while since we last introduced new Startup Lifers from the Spring Batch. Did you think that was it? No way!
We are super thrilled to announce the next four Startup Lifers from the Spring Batch of 2015! Pouya, Mikko and Emil have already started their internships in the SF Bay Area earlier this month, whereas Elina will be leaving for the Big Apple in the beginning of September.
Pouya is a double degree student from EIT ICT Labs Master School. He has studied Distributed Systems and Services in both Aalto University and in KTH Royal Institute of Technology.
In the beginning of August, Pouya is moving to Silicon Valley to work at a startup called EAT Club. EAT Club is a food delivery service that allows busy professionals in the SF Bay area and Los Angeles to order scheduled food delivery from close-by restaurants via the web or mobile devices. Pouya will be working as a full-stack developer in EAT Club’s Palo Alto office, and he is super excited to have an awesome internship experience in Silicon Valley.
Elina is about to graduate from the Master’s Program in Strategy, which combines courses from the Aalto University Schools of Business and Science. She is going to join Kiosked, a Finnish startup partly located in New York, that is the world’s leading in-content advertising platform. Elina found her way to Kiosked through Startup Life On Demand.
Elina will start working in Kiosked’s NYC team as a Marketing Communications Intern in the beginning of September and is super excited about learning about an industry that is extremely fast moving, as well as experiencing hectic life in the Big Apple.
Mikko is in his sixth year of studies, currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Theoretical Computer Science at Aalto University. He specialises in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence, and hopes to some day build an artificial intelligence that is smarter than human (and that will then destroy humanity, as he explains himself).
Mikko arrived in San Francisco earlier this month and joined Adroll, a startup that develops a marketing platform for businesses. As Adroll’s business is based mostly on machine learning, he will have plenty of interesting tasks ahead of him. Apart from working with AI, Mikko looks forward to building a network of local friends in SF, joining a martial arts club and hiking.
Emil is finishing up his Bachelor’s Studies in Bioinformation Technology at Aalto University. Emil is the Spring Batch’s second On Demand Startup Lifer and he joined Kitman Labs earlier this month as a Summer Intern.
Kitman Labs, situated down the San Francisco Peninsula in Menlo Park, produces an athlete management system for elite sports. As a Summer Intern, Emil will mostly be occupied with data analysis and pilot studies. Emil is looking forward to finding out how startups work in Silicon Valley and what makes them so effective, as well as getting to know the social landscape.
The Startup Life team wishes Pouya, Elina, Mikko and Emil good luck with their internships!
